ANEW car transporter from Carrimore Six Wheelers Ltd. is designed to provide the utmost protection for the vehicles carried, and to serve also as a semi general-purpose vehicle. Openings at the sides of the trailer, which has a fi,:led roof, are covered by canvas curtains running on Coburn tracks.
Fitted with a Carrimore SAE fifths wheel coupling, Adrolic stabilizer and semi-axle running gear, the trailer has :1 capacity of four tons. The frame is "set" at two points, giving a loading height of only 1 ft. 9 in. at the rear. It is enclosed at the back by a ramp 9 ft. 9 in, long, which is spring loaded to facilitate easy handling, and when lowered gives a loading angle of not more than 10.
An underfloor winch by Thompson is provided for picking up disabled vehicles; chains and securing bollards are also fitted.
