Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A Comprehensive Range including Seven Models, of which Five are Already Here.

THE name of Unic is one which has for many years been associated with high-class commercial-vehicle products. Even in the early days-19011908—much success was gained by the tithe cab, many hundreds of which were put into service in London and the provinces,

The concessionaire for Great Britain is U.M. (1928), Ltd., Canberra House, 319, Regent Street, London W.1. There are some seven different types of chassis, these constituting a most comprehensive range which should meet the requirements of all classes of user.

The one which we illustrate is the 27-cwt, model with an engine rated at 14-25 h.p., the price being £350, without tyres. In many respects it is typical of "Cnic design, and we will therefore give a few details concerning its design.

It has a four-cylindered monobloc engine with three main bearings, the bore and stroke being 72.8 mm. and 120 ram. respectively, a detachable head giving ease of access to the valv:3s, etc. The timing gear ls driven by a silent chain and a governor iimits the engine speed.

Gearbox and engine are mounted as a unit with the single dry-plate clutch, the whole being three-point suspendA. The gear and brake levers are centrallypositioned and right-hand drive is provided. The shoes in the front and rear wheels are of the automatic-servo Perrot-Bendix pattern. A. Spicerjointed propeller shaft takes the drive to a rear axle with spiral-bevel gear.

Grease-gun lubrication is arranged for throughout, and provision is made for driving the speedometer from the gearbox, which also has a power take-off for a mechanical tyre pump. The suspension is by semi-elliptic springs front and rear, the latter being underslung.

In the 2-ton model a 16-25 h.p. engine is employed. This has a bore of 80 mm., a stroke of 130 mm., and twin tyres at the rear instead of singles. It is made in two models, a low-loader at £420 without tyres and a goods chassis at £380 without tyres.

The same type of engine is used on the other two models of which we have details. These are the 30-cwt, commercial chassis with straight frame, and a 2-tonner with special double-reduction gear in the rear axle.
