DERBYSHIRE HAULAGE company SMC Transport has gone into administration.
Ian Rose from Doncaster insolvency practice Silke & Co was appointed administrator for the family-owned haulier on 11 July, according to documents lodged at Companies House.
The administrators are looking to take offers from interested parties and sell the assets, including trucks and trailers, but no date has been set for a creditors’ meeting.
SMC had an O-licence for 10 vehicles and the same number of trailers. It operated a mixed leet of vehicles including Renault, Mercedes and MAN curtainsiders, latbeds and fridges and also offered warehousing and storage services. Its directors were listed as Ian and Duncan Ball.
The company traditionally transported electrical goods, food, plant, plastics and print products in sectors such as aviation, rail and motor trade event support.
