EDINBURGH Police has announced special arrangements for the parking of coaches bringing passengers to the Edinburgh Festival and Military Tattoo.

During the period from August 9 to September 1 coaches will be able to park at the Morrison Street mineral yard off-street car park. Coaches will not be allowed to park in the streets of the Central Edinburgh area during this time.

New arrangements have been made for coaches bringing spectators to and from the Military Tattoo, and they will no longer be able to wait in the Grassmarket area.

George IV Bridge and Chambers Street have been reserved for coaches to bringing passeng ers to the event. Coaches will be allowed to set down and pick up passengers.

On nights when there is only one performance, coaches will be allowed to park until the passengers return from the tattoo. When there are two performances, the coaches bringing people to the second performance are advised to drop off passengers in this area and then park in the Morrison Street car park before returning for their pick up. All coach movements and parking will be under the direction of local police.
