Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS ONE American leaves Foden Trucks another joins. Following the recent return to the United States of the Sandbach lorry builder's lady deputy managing director Laurie Baker, Mark Pigott joins the company as assistant managing director.

Although Mr Pigott takes on the production responsibilities of Mrs Baker, he is not a direct replacement. Also part of his job will be overall control of quality assurance and computer systems at the Paccar subsidiary.

Mr Pigott has held senior management positions with the group's US subsidiaries Peterbilt and Kenworth. THE INDUSTRIAL Relations Committee of the Road Haulage Association has a new chairman — Peter May, managing director of May's Motors (Transport) of Elstead, Surrey.

He succeeds Glyn Samuel, who has vacated the position to concentrate on his duties as national vice chairman of the RHA. Mr Samuel is managing director of Flower's of York, a member of the Transport Development Group.

In addition to his new role, Mr May is vice chairman of the Metropolitan South East district of the association.
