Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Dump trucks have been operating for some time fitted with turbocharged versions of the Dorman 8J V8 diesel engine, the 8JT. This develops 330 bhp at 2200 rpm and a maximum torque of 894 lb ft at 1500 rpm, the minimum fuel consumption being about 0.367 tb /bhp /h at 1800 rpm. An 8JT diesel will be exhibited at the Commercial Motor Show, Earls Court, in September by the makers, Dorman Diesels Ltd, Pixall Road, Staffs.

An increase in power of some 40 per cent is provided by turbocharging. The output of the naturally aspirated unit is 235 bhp at 2200 rpm, while its maximum torque is 6 lb ft at 1600 rpm.

Introduced in August, 1970 naturally aspirated form (CM, August 1970), the Dorman V8 was designed i turbocharging and charge cooling and power ratings up to 600 bhp.
