Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A new drawbar trailer manufactured by the Cannock branch of York Trailer's truck equipment division is designed for operation with a towing vehicle incorporating the Multilift swop-body equipment. The swopbody system allows drawbar operation without the need for duplicating the lifting equipment installed on the rigid, and the York drawbar can be operated by owners of existing Multilift-equipped chassis.

The outfit has a wide range of applications for many industries, as most body-types can be converted to the Multilift system which can be used for transporting any load such as bulk materials, timber, refuse, contractors' plant and site offices.

A special subframe has been fabricated for the 16ft 6in. long drawbar chassis which features channel guides to take the subframe common to Multilift container bodies. When the body slides fully into place automatic locks secure it from any further movement.

In operation the connecting A-frame is uncoupled from the traction vehicle and lowered to the ground, permitting the towing vehicle to back up over the frame, without fouling on the differential, until the runners of both vehicles coincide. Where it is required to swop a body from the towing vehicle to the drawbar trailer, the +in. diameter wire ropes are led from the Multilift's hydraulically powered cable drums round built in pulley wheels at the rear end of the York drawbar and returned to coupling hooks at the back end of the swop body subframe. The vehicle body lock, an added safety feature, is released allowing the body to be powered along steel runners on to the drawbar. When the rear buffer is reached the trailer body locks operate. For the reverse operation of transferring a body from the drawbar to the Multilift, the wire ropes are attached directly to the body's forward end towing hooks, the body locks are released manually and the hydraulic motor powers it back to the original position.

The new York drawbar has York Hareo single-axle suspensions front and rear giving 13 tons gtw with its 7.50 x 15, 16-ply tyres.
