UNTIL the docks' dispute is settled little action, says the DoE, is likely to be taken against foreign goods and passenger vehicles and their drivers under the new Road Traffic (Foreign Vehicles) Act, 1972 which came into operation last Monday.
Under the Act foreign vehicles may be impounded and their drivers arrested if they are found by police, weights and measures inspectors or traffic examiners to contravene British regulations.
