Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FOUR new models on the Commer Maxiload chassis in both tipper and platform versions can be offered with a new York trailing axle conversion making them suitable for operation at 20 and 22 tons g.v.w.

In addition, arrangements have been made for factory approval to be given to existing conversions to operate at this weight. Vehicles of this type already in service can be plated and approved for these weights, provided that York Truck Equipment Ltd. is allowed to examine the braking system to ensure that it is to the latest specification. When a conversion is specified, an Eaton two-speed axle must be fitted, the cost of which is included in the conversion and this can vary from £785 to £810 depending on whichever model is used. The unladen weight of the Commer-York is 25 cwt more than the corresponding Maxiload chassis, while the air-load transfer device when specified adds a further 2 cwt. Model CCGW 1615 with a conversion fitted has an unladen chassis weight of 5 tons 18 cwt and costs £3,460. A 26ft platform body can be fitted to this new chassis length.
