Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE first sophisticated transocean tainer terminal to be operational in Great Britain was opened at Felixstowe last week. A fortnightly service by the Container Forwarder and her sister ship, Container Dispatcher, both of 20,020 tons dead weight and with a carrying capacity of 738 by 20ft ISO/ASA containers will provide a door to door, door to pier, pier to pier and pier to door movement across the North Atlantic.

The ships will be managed by Container Marine Lines, a division of American Export Isbrandtsen Lines. CML can arrange inland haulage within the UK and the USA in co-operation with leading hauliers in both countries. The company operates nearly 50 terminals and inland depots.

All CML containers are constructed to ISO/ASA standards and mainly consist of 20 by 8 by 8ft dry-cargo units of up to 20 tons gross (loaded) weight with approximately 1100 cult. of internal capacity. Many of the containers are fitted with special shelving and securing facilities for specialized cargoes.

The British debut of the 30-ton capacity Paceco Vickers Portainer gantry crane attracted wide interest. The Portainer is 184ft high, weighs some 400 tons, and enables container ships to be discharged and loaded at a speed of up to 800 tons per hour.

The new container berth at Felixstowe is the first of three new berths. An additional container berth is under way and a second double-deck roll-on/roll-off berth will be completed in March, 1968. Two Clark Van Carriers series 510 are on order. The are specially designed for transfer and stacking of containers in the large container park at Felixstowe. They have a lifting capacity of up to 30 tons and can stack containers three high.
