Top driver
• The Truck and Van Driver of the Year competition is calling for entrants, sponsors and exhibitors. The event, which has been running for over 40 years, starts with regional heats on 12 May closing date for entries is 5 May. Winners of the heats will go on to the finals held at the IVRA complex, Warwickshire on 9-10 August.
Sponsors and exhibitors for this weekend are also welcomed.

Safety awards
• The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and manufacturer of disposable wipers KimberlyClark are launching the Safety Professional of the Year competition.
Transport and distribution is just one of the catagories in which the competition will reward individuals for their efforts in reducing accidents and for safety education at work.
The finals will be held at the Savoy Hotel, London, with the overall winner going on a trip to the National Safety Congress in Orlando, US.
