• An application to lift the suspension of the 0-licence held by liverpool-based JC Transport, imposed in June 1993, has been rejected by North Western Deputy Traffic Commissioner Alan CateII.
The DTC heard that the business was now run by JC Commercials. Director Stephen Callister said that the original licence holder, his father John, died 12 years ago. The business became a limited company in 1 995 and was no longer in haulage, but bought and sold trucks and trailers.
Cotten said that the limited company needed to make an application for a fresh licence in its own name because it was not possible to transfer licences. He added that when the application was received the previous convictions, prohibitions and use of rebated fuel relating to JC Transport would have to be examined.
The Callisters might have a difficult job persuading the Commissioner of their fitness to hold a licence, he warned.
