• The closure of The Crown Suppliers (TCS) workshops and vehicle rental business has been announced by Environment Minister Sir George Young.
In a written answer he said the Government has not been able to reach agreement with the only bidder. which was the management buyout team (Workshop Dec/Jan).
The letter went on to state: "the workshops are unprofitable...", although no figures were available. This contrasts with the statements given to Workshop last year. But no one at TCS was prepared to comment on the letter's claims.
