big chief • A&R Motors have installed the first Chief 10-tower Truck E-Z Liner chassis straightener in the UK. Sheffield-based A&R has built a new 325m2 (3,500ft2) workshop to house the equipment, which is said to be capable of handling virtually everything on the road today.

The £70.000 (ex civil works) straightener has four towers of 25 tonne pulling capacity, the other six are 10 tonne. A further four axillary rams with 25-tonne capacity and two of 10 tonnes were also included in the deal.

Chief Truck E-Z Liner can be used to straighten cabs in-situ and is set into a small pit to allow a flat drive/winch 1■n capability.
