• Nine drivers employed by MRS Distribution have been ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £2,700 after admitting falsifying tachograph charts. Appealing before Derby Crown Court were Barry Capewell of Wingfield, New Tupton, Chesterfield; John Dow of Polbeth Crescent, West Calder, Scotland; William Hamilton of Burnside Drive, Polbeth, Scotland; Bernard Nash of Caldwell Crescent, Staveley; Christopher Payne of Laurel Garth Crescent, Old Whittington; Alfred Rankin of Planter Hill, Worksop; Alexander Steel of Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield; James Steel of Yarrow Court, Penicuik, Midlothian; and Derek Wright of Hady Lane, Chesterfield.
Each pleaded guilty to one specimen count of making a false tachograph record.
