holding talks with the Russian Government which could lead to the setting up of a joint van project. The talks could include the setting up of a vehicle assembly plant in Russia, producing Freight Rover-designed vans by using locally-produced components including engines.
The discussions are thought to centre on the setting up of a single production facility which could have an initial van building capacity of 15-25,000 vehicles a year Few details have been released on the talks, but if any deal is to be struck it is likely that Babcock International will provide the expertise on setting up the production plant, while Freight Rover would supply the necessary vehicle technology and van designs.
