Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Aberdeen-based Charles Alexander Transport is investing around 22 million on new vehicles and premises, and has commissioned a new livery for its trucks in its latest push for more business.

Alexander, which is part of Transport Development Group is spending 21.25 million on replacement vehicles including 16 MAN twin-steer tractive units, two reefer trailers, two Insuliners and four more Tautliners. it is also updating its rigid fleet with more 16 tonners, 7.5 thrillers and 3.5 tonners.

In a move costing between .2700-800,000, Alexander is relocating its Aberdeen workshops to a new site in the city.

The latest livery, which is based on a stylised trunk road sign depicting the letter A, will be phased in over the coming months with vehicles being identified by their own depot rather than by the company's Aberdeen head office.

Managing director Tom Warnock says the mainstay of Alexander's business conti nues to be its intensive nationwide trunking network with some 40% engaged in fish transport. As distribution trends change, however, more deliveries are now going straight to supermarkets. Warnock is looking to pick up extra business on the continent with an expansion in the company's international haulage operations. He confirms that Alexander is "comfortably" profitable, but says "we are able to do better".

Alexander currently operates 200 vehicles and 300 trailers and has nine depots throughout the UK.
