FORTY per cent, of the route mileage and 72 per cent, of the routes operated by the Devon General Omnibus and Touring Co., Ltd., were run at below the company's average costs, said Mr. W. T. James, chairman, in his annual report last week. Abolition of tax on oil fuel was urgent. "The very existence of many rural transport facilities throughout the country lies in the hands of the Chancellor of the Exchequer." he added.
