T0 enable prospective customers to familiarize themselves with the characteristics of the transmission units manufactured and designed by SelfChanging-Gears, Ltd., Coventry, the company have converted a Leyland Olympic bus into a travelling demonstration vehicle.

The vehicle itself, fitted with the V.S. automatic control recently developed by Self-Changing Gears, is divided into two parts. The front portion seats 20 people who, during a driving demonstration, will be able to view clearly the controls and driving technique involved when the V.S.

is employed.

The rear portion comprises a showroom occupying half the total floor space. It displays sectioned and working models of a variety of gearboxes, and a cut-away model indicating the workings of the RV.28 gearbox fitted to the vehicle. The fully automatic control units are also demonstrated and the workings clearly explained by diagrams.

Provision has also been made for the showing of films dealing with the various applications of the Wilson gearbox. The vehicle will be touring municipal transport undertakings and various engine makers throughout Britain. and an itinerary will shortly be arranged for a Continental tour.
