I T was expected that if the finance and general purposes committee of the Transport and General Workers' Union, at their meeting on Wednesday and Thursday, gave the London busmen plenary powers to enforce their claim for an increase in wages of 10s. 6d. a week, the London Transport Executive would withdraw their acceptance of the Industrial Court's award.
The court awarded an extra 8s. 6d. a week to the central bus crews. This the men rejected, and demanded an all-round increase of 10s. 6d.
