Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ALTHOUGH there are no opportunities for sponsored, broadcasting by advertisers in this country, the appeal of recorded sound can still be exploited as a supplement to Press advertising, A striking demonstration of methods of using sound to convey sales messages was given last week at a luncheon held by Maurice Vernon, Ltd., Godliman House, Godliman Street, London, E.C.4. The company is well known to commercial-vehicle and component manufacturers as a specialist in technical advertising.

Speeches made at the luncheon were recorded and were available for playing back within an hour. Records made to demonstrate the dissemination' of roadsafety propaganda were among those played. Publicity for National Savings was presented dramatically in " thriller " form, and a suggestion for solving the difficult problem of persuading people not to smoke in non-smoking compartments of trains was effectively demonstrated.

The use of sound as an advertising medium was emphasized as supplementary to Press publicity, and loudspeaker vans, cinemas, factory broadcasting systems, and postal transmission were among the means suggested for aural advertising.
