/I A mechanical breakdown insurance which covers vehicles up to 10 years old has been introduced by Plymouth-based Practical Warranties.
It charges a flat rate of £365 for vans through to 38-tonners for £1,250 of repair cover in six months. The Plan 10 Warranty covers the engine, manual transmission, rear axles and the propshaft — but does not insure the clutch or the engine cooling system.

Bankruptcies of individuals rather than companies are rising fast, says founder John McQueen; and although bankrupts are discharged after three years the stigma can affect someone for the rest of their life, Contact (0652) 33434.
Weight limits
• Recovery operators in any doubt about the compliance of their rescue vehicles with CU regulations can take advantage of I3oniface's free offer.
For the price of a weighbridge check the Thetford-based equipment manufacturer will use its purpose-written software programme to detail the limits to which your recovery vehicles may be used. Boniface needs the following information: individual axle weights; rear axle spread (if applicable); wheelbase overhang (if rear lift equipment is fitted); boom or spec-frame extension; axle capacities (from vehicle plate); gross train weight (if applicable).
