Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

a fatal accident in New Hall Lane, Preston, near the junction with Scotforth Road. A 50-year-old man is believed to have fallen under the rear wheels of a passing HGV and it is possible the driver is not aware of the accident: There is no suggestion he is to blame for the incident.

Lancashire Police need to trace the driver of the vehicle concerned, described as: "A large HGV, mid-to-dark blue in colour, with double wheels on the back axle, possibly with anti-spray guards and a van-type body." The vehicle had been driven up Brockles Brow, Preston, from the direction of the M6 motorway at Salinesbury, and continued on towards the town centre.

The police would hie the driver of any blue HGVs that were operating in the area at the time to contact their traffic department on (0772) 203203.
