• In response to the success of Japanese leisure 4x4s in the UK market, Land Rover has produced a one-off version of the short wheelbase 90 veeeight model.
Named the 'Cariba', the concept vehicle features special metallic coachwork, leather upholstery, nudge bars, a rollover bar and a sophisticated stereo system.
"There are no plans to put the Cariba into production," says Land Rover, but it is clearly concerned by the inroads made by the Japanese manufacturers into this sector.
