Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

companies and three of their directors are so serious that Grimsby magistrates have sent them for trial at the Crown Court.

The defendants are McDermott Movements, Maxihaul (Humberside), Roawest Transport, managing director Alan Blakey and his sons Nigel and Simon Blakey. They are accused of 485 offences, including attempting to obtain over £6,000 by deception from Eclipse Motor Policies at Lloyds.

Asking that the defendants be tried at the Crown Court because of the large sums of money involved, Miss J Chatterjee, prosecuting, said the Blakeys had tried to obtain £6,542.30 from an insurance company by claiming that a Maxihaul vehicle, which had been involved in an accident, had been repaired when it had not.

An investigation led to the discovery that 10 vehicles had been operating for three years without being insured.

Alan Blakey asked the magistrates to deal with the case themselves, saying that it was a vindictive prosecution on trumped-up charges.

The magistrates have adjourned the case until 20 October when committal proceedings will take place.
