Dennis Rodgers has been appointed managing director (Coaching and Retailing) within the Commercial Services Division of Greater Manchester Transport.

Mr Rodgers, who was formerly Services Manager (Marketing) lives in Dewhurst Road, Harwood, Bolton, and started his coaching career as Assistant to the Traffic Manager of Sheffield United Coaching.

Cliff Groves has been appointed general sales manager at Scania (Great Britain) Ltd.

Mr Groves will have overall responsibility for Scania truck sales and marketing in the UK, through the Scania distributor network.

He started his career in the commercial vehicle industry as an engineering apprentice at Scammell Lorries Limited of Watford, Herts. There he graduated to experimental engineer in charge of truck and trailer development, a position he held for five years.

Mr 0. S. Flower-dew has been appointed general manager of the Highbury Corner Motor Company's new Ford Truck Centre at Holloway Road, London. For the past 19 years he has held various posts with John Willment.

E. S. Woodiwiss is appointed deputy managing director of AE Edmunds Walker Limited, the Associated Engineering Group's company for replacement vehicle and engine components.

William Ritchie has been appointed remould and casing manager of National Tyre Service Ltd. Based at the company's headquarters at Stockport, he will be responsible for the company's remoulding and recasing operations.

We regret to announce the death of Arthur Brook, former council member of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers. Mr Brook was cremated at Swansea Crematorium last week.
