Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TRANSPORT Minister Dr John Gilbert has opened a new £1.25m extension to the Simon Engineering plant at Stockport.

The new building was started last year and is designed to increase production of the company's fire-fighting and overhead working platforms.

Yorks improvement

IMPROVEMENTS to the A616 road in South Yorkshire have been agreed and tenders of £300,645 accepted. The work is being started in September and will take around a year to complete.

The work involves a stretch of 1.9 miles from Langsett to a point near the Flouch Inn cross-roads. The road is to be widened, strengthened and the alignment improved.

A13 go-ahead

A LINE has been fixed for the new A13 road from the Mar Dyke interchange on the M25 motorway to Marshfoot Junction at the Tilbury Docks approach road, east of Grays, Essex.

The line has been confirmed following a public inquiry in which the inspector, Mr T. V. Burrows, recommended to the Department of the Environment keeping the original line as planned.

Relief road

THE CUMBRIAN village of Brough will feel the benefit of a new by-pass opened last week. The 21/2-mile section of the A66 Workington to Middlesbrough road includes the village by-pass and an interchange with the A685 Kendal-Brough road.

One carriageway of the new road has been used as a diversion while the new road was being built. It is estimated that the new road cost £3m to complete.
