CONTINUED expansion of road haulage interests in 1964 is reported by the chairman of Coast Lines Ltd. in his annual statement. Recording the purchase of Russell Davies of Pontardawe, nr. Neath, the chairman remarks that company policy includes expansion and improvement of depots and says that acquisitions and improvements are taking place in London, Manchester. Newcastle and Glasgow.
(Coast Lines controls Thomas Allen Ltd., James Hemphill Ltd., the Liverpool Cartage Co. Ltd. and Northern Ireland Trailers Ltd., among other road interests, and has a 20 per cent holding in Ferrymaster Ltd. and a 24-6 per cent stake in Tayforth Ltd.—which, as announced recently, will be reduced under the new control plans of Transport Holding Co.).
Norris Extension : S. Norris Ltd. have extended their warehouse and opened a new service counter at 222 Great Portland Street, London WI. Goods reception has been transferred to the rear of these premises at 63 Bolsover Street.
