TRAILER MANUFACTURER Schmitz Cargobull has engineered a new line-up of aluminium fixed-roof curtainsiders. The range has been developed for the UK market and is built alongside its sliding roof curtainsiders at its manufacturing facility in Altenberge, Germany, which builds up to 200
trailers a day.
The curtainsider features a new aluminium front bulkhead with galvanised steel front and rear corner posts — to allow side loading — and wraparound curtains with a front ratchet tensioner. Schmitz Cargobull expects the majority of domestic fleets to specify two side posts per side without rigging boards, but will also offer the option of three side posts per side, to meet
the full EN 12642 XL European standard. The new aluminium fixed-roof curtain-sided trailer will feature on 70% of all Schmitz Cargobull trailers. The trailer will also have full-height aluminium mono-hinged double doors, as well as two roof-mounted load restraint tracks.
