Dennis Bros reduced the price of the 3ocwt Dennis chassis from L35o to 300 guineas. The move came after it increased production facilities at its Guildford factory to cope with the expected increase in demand from the new lower price. The 3ocwt Dennis had been on the road for three years, with many examples destined for the export market.

There was some argument as to whether the Commercial Motor Show should be held. Objections were based on the expense of running the show, lack of progress during the two years since the previous show, and its attraction, or otherwise, to potential buyers from abroad. There was also some debate over whether the preparation of exhibits would interfere with current production, particularly in the view of the increasing pressure for rearmament.

Transport Minister William Rodgers won his battle with the President of the European Council of Transport Minister Jos Chabert. Chabert agreed that Britain could have a threeyear run-in to the eight-hour driving limit. Under the new deal the British driving day would stay at TO hours for the first 18 months after i January, going down to nine-and-a-half or nine hours for the next 18 months. It would finally go down to eight hours at the end of three years.
