• Tachograph fiddling charges against interna tional haulage firm boss David Lynne and five of his former drivers were further adjourned last week.

Lynne, a director of David Lynne International of Haslemere, Surrey, denies 26 charges under the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act alleging fraudulent use of tachograph charts between January and May of 1994.

He was not present when the case was mentioned at Stroud magistrates court; proceedings

were further adjourned until 9 October. Similar charges against five of Lynne's former drivers were adjourned to the same date.

Last month a sixth former Lynne driver, Graham Yorwerth, of Southfield Road, Wrexham, admitted four charges of producing forged charts in March and April 1994.

He was conditionally discharged for two years and ordered to pay ,Z45 costs.

The court heard that the offences related to time discrep ancies in records of trans-European journeys and cross-Channel return journeys.
