nETAILS. of two competitions—one for essays and the other for drawings— were annouticed this week. The eSsay competition is a new venture by the Institute of the Motor Industry aimed at encouraging-the study of oil engines and their maintenance.

Technical :college students are being invited to compete for two cash prizes totalling £26 5s. by writing on "The Servicing of Diesel Fuel Pumps and Injectors." Leslie Hartridge, Ltd., who have donated the awards, will invite the successful contestants to tour their works.
