As Pall-Ex gears up for two tribunal claims brought by former employees, its paid the price of previous unfair dismissal claims. Chris Tindall reports.
?ALLET NETWORK Pall-Ex as paid out £30,000 after two 'ormer employees took the ;ompany to separate tribunals laiming unfair dismissal.
The pay-outs at the Leicester ind Brighton tribunals will create i dent in the company's finances — ?all-Ex made 070,000 profit in W04. They also come just weeks )efore Pall-Ex gears up to face mother tribunal over claims for -ace discrimination and unfair lismissal brought by its former lead of credit control,Ben Lavin.
The Department for Trade and :ndustry confirms that yet another unfair dismissal case, brought by Alan Roulston, who was responsible for warehouse upkeep, will follow shortly.
Elaine Bailey, director of network development, was awarded £15,000 after Pall-Ex admitted she had been unfairly dismissed. Bailey says she was ousted after being accused of gross misconduct.
She claims the company told her she had made "too many phone calls" and had "colluded" with Glenys Hargreaves, a southern manager for the tinn,who had also been dismissed by the company. Hargreaves was awarded £15,000 in August by a tribunal after it found she had also been unfairly dismissed.
Bailey says: "I had absolutely no idea what was happening. I had been with the company for nearly 18 months and I had never done anything wrong."
Bailey says the experience affected her health and claims that the payment from Pall-Ex doesn't even cover her salary. She is now looking for a new job.
Pall-Ex declines to comment on the cases.
