Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BERKSHIRE LORRY DRIVER Andrew Storey has been jailed for three months for the falsification of tachograph charts. Storey, of Stoke Poges Lane, Slough, pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court to eight offences of falsification and asked for 75 similar offences lobe taken into account. Prosecuting, Alex Balancy said Storey had been driving a 7.5-tonner when it was stopped in a roadside check. When he produced his tacho charts traffic examiner Anne Webb noted infringements on the charts and the distance traces were misaligned.

She subsequently analysed another 133 charts; 79 showed a discrepancy between the mileage recorded and the distance trace, coming to a total of 8,707km unrecorded over a period of seven months.

For Storey, James Smith said he had not been financially motivated, but had been having difficulty in his relationship with his partner. He had done what he could to get home at the end of his working days when he was close enough, generating the extra distance covered. He pointed out that Storey had paid the extra fuel mits, where appropriate, out of his own pocket.
