HERTFORDSHIRE-BASED Chestminster has won a five-year haulage contract with steel company Kierbeck.
Chestminster, which is owned and run by brothers Roger and Robert Beadle, has invested £.1.1m in eight new Volvos and 36 flatbed trailers for the new business, adding to the company's existing fleet of seven artics and two rigids.
Director Robert Beadle says: "As far as I am aware we were up against four other haulage companies. I think it's the fact that we were prepared to invest in new vehicles that set us apart."
The contract will involve delivery of steel from Kierbeek's two East London depots to locations throughout the UK.
