Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SMALL AND medium sized haulage companies in the Scottish Highlands could be helped by a scheme aimed at developing management skills.

The Scottish Executive Highlands and Islands Skills Fund has granted Skills for Logistics (SfL) funding to develop management training plans for companies which have fewer than 250 employees.

Areas that will be covered include marketing, sales, communication, business planning, financial planning, delegation skills and IT.

SfL chief executive Ian Hetherington says the project will enable smaller operators to identify and address some of the skills gaps at management level: "Ultimately this should improve the profitability of the organisation."
