• Plans are under way to tempt more truck drivers into the Strensham motorway service station on the M5—the Worcestershire MSA which was bought by its management last month.
Nick Turner. who led the £16.8m buyout, says: "Commercial drivers are not a market that service stations have traditionally courted but we are now seriously looking at improving our ser vices for this sector. It currently represents about 8% of our customers".
Plans include dormitory-style accommodation and fuel bunkering on the south side of the MSA.
The north side already has fuel bunkering. It is also planning to increase LGV parking to 85 spaces on the southbound services next year. The northbound site has been upgraded to take 138 LGITs.
