Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Inmarsat has produced a computer program which calculates the cost of satellite communication against the terrestrial telephone.

First the operator enters the information to calculate vehicle running costs, costs per load and per mile. Then the average time and distance travelled to find a phone, the number of calls per trip and cost per call are put in.

From all of these Inmarsat says the computer will calculate the full cost of keeping in touch, including time and fuel. The program moves on to detail the cost of equipment and call costs via satellite and will then work out potential pay-back periods.

A free copy of the program is available from Inmarsat on a floppy disc which runs on any computer operating DOS. Inmarsat can be contacted on 0171-728 1000.
