Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by Colin Sowman • Michelin has launched its XZEI and XDE1 range regional and stop/start tyres for 17.5in wheels used on trucks between 7.5 andll tonnes. The 75-aspect tyres are available in drive and steer patterns. They are regroovable and retreadable; sizes are 205, 215, 225 and 235.

Using the latest El rubber compound has meant that operators have achieved 40% extra mileage in trials, says Michelin. As 80% of 17.5-inch tyres suffer from kerbing damage (sometimes preventing retreading) Michelin has increased the side. wall thickness by 35%.

This has been accompanied by an increase in the load/speed index to allow an extra 100kg per tyre. Prices are the same as the current product, says Michelin, and a 19,5in range will be launched soon.
