Leading vehicle and axle anufacturers are expected to Id more fuel to the wheel nut introversy next week, by iallenging the recent Institute Road Transport Engineers commendations on wheel nut andards, at the European ransport Maintenance Council inference.
The IRTE research, which was carried out by the Motor Industry Research Association, proposes five main guidelines, including an across-the-board wheel nut torque of 800Nm (600lbft).
Representatives of Rubery Owen-Rockwell, York (Technical Division) and Crane Fruehauf also joined forces last week to slam the report.
