• A new lightweight tail-lift from Kirby Mellor and Wallis, can be used on vehicles as light as 3.5 tonnes, and has a facility for cordless operation through an infra-red hand-set. The Oldham-based company claims that the one-tonne capacity lift weighs only 173kg, and its simple design means that the few moving parts can be changed in only 20 minutes.
The lift has an electricallypowered hydraulic pump that operates two rams, mounted on each side of the tail board.
The price of 21,295 (ex-VAT) includes extras such as an isolating switch, a hazard warning lights switch, which run along the length of the tail-board, and a control unit connected to 2 self-coiling cable. The infra-red cordless control is extra.
