Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Sussex coach operator Davie's of Rye has set up a north-eastern division with the take-over of Watsons Tours of Annfield Plain, County Durham.

Davie's has bought the base and some vehicles, although none will be operated, as newer vehicles are being drafted in from the South.

Watsons, which recently fell foul of the the Traffic Commisioners, was bought from its owner Richard Hayter and is at present undergoing a complete revamp under its new owners.

A new general manager and a new tours manager has been appointed and about 30 new staff are being recruited. A new British tour programme will be launched at the end of the year together with Continental destinations.

The parent company is a family firm which started coaching in 1954. It operates Continental shuttles, on contract to National Express, as well as tours on behalf of Titan and Global Lancaster.
