KYSOR INDUSTRIAL has launched a light vehicle air conditioning and heating system called VanPak which is designed for use in vans and minibuses up to 3 tonnes gvw.

The VanPak unit has a cooling capacity of 16,900 BTU/hr and is compact enough to fit under a seat or in a small storage locker on a vehicle. Heating capacity is 36,400 BTU/hr.

Air distribution ducts can be mounted in a variety of positions, to meet operators' individual requirements and to give a balanced air flow at any temperature. Maximum power required by the VanPak unit in either the heating or cooling mode is 14 amps.

Price for the VanPak air conditioning unit, which has an overall weight of 11kg (23.5 lb) is £386 plus vat. Condensor units can be roof mounted or sited within the engine compartment and prices will vary from £300 to £500 according to specification. Compressors are priced at £124 plus vat and hoses cost approximately £75 plus vat.
