Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Hyva demount tip

HYVA (UK) has introduced a Dutch-built demountable tipping system for rigid vehicles and trailers capable of handling payloads of up to 40 tonnes.

The Nijenhuis Containers Holland (NCH) system comprises a tipping frame with a power take-off driven hydraulicallyoperated winch which is used to draw demount containers on to the frame.

NCH systems are available for rigid chassis from 16 to 30 tons gvw and for conventional trailers. Hyva claims it is compatible with Multilift containers.

To load a container, the vehicle is backed up to the end of the body with the tipping frame raised. The frame rails extend past the rear bogie and rest on the ground, forming a ramp for the container.

Using controls located next to the cab, the driver unreels the twin winch cables, which are attached to hooks on the under side of the container.

After taking in cable slack, the container is pulled slowly on to the tipping frame where it is located by longitudinal runners on the base of the body.

These runners rest on horizontal load-bearing rollers which extend from the side of the frame rails. As the container body is pulled on to the rollers, the frame can be lowered like a conventional tipping unit. When loading is completed the container is locked on to the frame.

To unload a body, the process is reversed. The NCH system can also be used like a normal tipping body. Once the container is locked on to the frame, it can be raised allowing material to be discharged though a tailgate.

Weight for a NCH unit for a 16-ton rigid is 1.35 tonnes, while a 24-ton vehicle unit weighs 1.75 tonnes. Units for 30-ton four-axle rigids weigh 1.85 tonnes.

Hyva supplies all NCH equipment with pto and pumps. The first NCH has already begun operating with T. Kilroe and Sons of Manchester who use it on a Mercedes 2419K 6x4 on a tunnel building contract for Trafford Borough.

Prices for the NCH equipment are £8,670 plus vat for a 16 tonner system, £10,150 plus vat for 24 tonners with a body length up to 7m (22ft 11in) or £10,350 plus vat for use with bodies over 7m. A 30-ton 8x4 unit for bodies up to 7m costs £10,350 plus vat and £10,540 plus vat for use with bodies over 7m. Hyva will fit all NHC equipment including a pto and pump and tipping gear for a flat rate of £1,200 plus vat.
