NEW TYRES for bus and heavy commercial vehicle drive axles have been announced by two major manufacturers.
Bridgestone is marketing its V-Steel MIX 716 (M716) which has a non-skid tread depth of 17.5mm (0.69in) as well as deeper and wider lugs than its MIX(VSX) predecessor.
Goodyear has added the G167 to its G-series of heavy vehicle tyres, which it claims can give a first tyre life of up to 200,000km (125,000miles). Middle of the range sizes, the 12R22.5, has a tread depth of 21.5mm (0.85in).
