PRESIDENT-elect of The Chartered Institute of Transport is Keith Stuart, chairman of Associated of British Ports. He will succeed Norman Payne next year as president and chairman of the institute's council, whose appointment was confirmed recently along with those of its other officers.
The institute's vice-presidents are: Margaret Heraty, transport consultant; Ian Irwin, chairman, Scottish Bus Group; Jim O'Brien, joint managing director rail, BR; Victor Paige, chairman of the Port of London Authority and vice-chairman of the National Freight Consortium; William Slater, managing director, Cunard Steamship Company; and Sir Peter Thompson, chairman, NFC.
Norman Payne is chairman of the British Airports Authority.
