Pickfords' newly formed Removals and Travel Group will be headed from January 1 by Geoffrey Pygall. He is currently managing director of separate companies Pickfords Removals Ltd and Pickfords Travel Service Ltd.
Christopher Brayford has moved from the air freight industry to road haulage with Abel Freight Systems. He is operations and sales manager at Abel, specialising in transport between the UK and Ireland. Mr Brayford gained experience of the industry in Ireland, working for a Dublinbased freight company.
Paul Hill, formerly area manager (Cumbria) at Ribble Motor Services Ltd, has joined Crosville Motor Services as assistant traffic manager (West), based at its headquarters in Chester. He replaces Brian Noton, who moves to traffic manager at National Welsh. Robin 0601, who holds a similar position to Mr Hill as area manager (West) at South Wales Transport Co Ltd, will become assistant traffic manager to Potteries Motor Traction Co Ltd on December 1.
At Alder Valley, Bob Holland has been promoted from services assistant to the Southern area manager, to depot traffic superintendent at Newbury. Mr Holland joined the Eastern National Bus Company in 1973, and move to Alder Valley in 1975.
