R. T. Byford, director of the Tower Manufacturers' ference, was a little put out by the title of his talk as printe the official programme of the R HA conference.

It was "Faulty Towers." He would not, he said, del such a lecture. What he was willing to do was to explain work of the Tower Manufacturers' conference and the To Panels. This he did, mainly through slides.

The tight schedule allowed only five minutes for questiâ–  which was perhaps just as well. I sensed a certain hostilit the part of delegates, partially perhaps because of somewhat brusque way in which he dealt with three qi tions that were asked.
