Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

so far we have not found a suitable small bus or coach meeting the following requirements: chassis-2-tonner; number of passengers 16/18; maximum width of vehicle 6ft 101n. We already have an 11 -seat bus but this is not really suitable for the work we have to do. What is your advice?

AFrom the standard lists of available passenger vehicles it must be admitted that we cannot find one entirely suited for the job you have in mind. The chassis which would fulfil your measurements and tonnage requirement would not qualify for passenger vehicle certification.

The p. s.v. version of the 30cwt Ford Transit would come somewhere near your requirements. It has an overall width of 6ft Bin, and carries 14 passengers excluding the driver.

It is possible that this model could be obtained in chassis/scuttle form upon which a local coach builder could build a body to meet your requirements.

This particular model is available only with petrol engine and when road tested by CM it returned a fuel consumption of 20.8 m.p.g. at an average speed of 28.25 mph when fully laden.
