AGAINST tough Japanese competition, Seddon Pennine IV buses with Metal Sections bodies have been chosen for Costa Rica. This is the first sizeable export order for UK buses in Costa Rica, and has been gained by B. Ashworth (Overseas) Ltd. on behalf of Seddon.
The £90,000 order, for 20 53-seat buses with Perkins V8.510 diesel engines, specifies 16ft 6in.-wheelbase left-hand-drive chassis. The steel and aluminium bodies, 32ft long, will be supplied c.k.d. by Metal Sections Ltd., Oldbury.
